Don't Worry Be Happy!

Here's my latest mixed media kind of card created using the largest butterfly in the Butterflies set and sentiment from the Party Words stamp set! Had a great time with this one! I created the background with VersaMagic ink on the Gelli Plate, dropped several colors of Adirondack alcohol inks onto it, then sprayed it with a handmade Perfect Pearls mist! The gorgeous butterfly is embossed with Black Fantasy embossing powder on heavy-weight vellum, colored (on the back side) with Smooch inks, then cut out with a Pergamano 4-prong perforating tool. Love the butterfly trail! Check out my blog post on Love To Scrap! for all the details!

Here's a close-up of that gorgeous shimmery butterfly!

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we hope to see you back soon! ;)

Steampunk Typewriter Girl

Hello!
I have a pretty cool Steampunk Style tag to share with you today.  I made this tag with the stamp Steampunk Typewriter Girl.  I stamped on glossy CS that was cut into a tag.

I also stamped the Loops Border with Faded Jeans Distress inks in the background.    I added lace, rick rack and wire for accents.  Hope you are having a great day.  Talk again soon!

Hello Lost Coasters!
My name is Leigh Snaith-Brunton aka The Sharpie Domino Queen and today is Day 1 of the spooktacular 15 Days of Half-O-Ween event over on my DominoART blog which I'm thrilled to say is being sponsored by Lost Coast Designs!

Why wait until October to get your freak on when you can indulge in the horror half way through the year too!  I will be featuring a new scary project by DominoART's Petrifying Players every 2nd day for 15 days throughout May so sit back and enjoy the freak show!  There's still some days available if you'd like your scary altered game art featured during this event too!  So hurry out your email to me NOW and sign up!

Three Winners will receive Gift Certificates to spend at Lost Coast Designs!
1st Place Winner will receive a $15 gift certificate
2nd Place Winner will receive a $10 gift certificate
3rd Place Winner will receive a $5 gift certificate

I'm kicking off Half-O-Ween with my Skellie Jigsaw card!
I used two Lost Coast Designs stamps:  Skeleton and Roses and Long Swirl Flourish and an altered jigsaw puzzle piece!

Stamp the Skeleton and Roses image with Onyx Black Memento Ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock or similar cardstock suitable for use with Copic markers.  Stamp the Long Swirl Flourish multiple times with Walnut Stain Distress Ink to create a decorative background.  Colour the roses with Copics R39 and R46, the greenery with G28, the Skeleton with E41 and the frame with Fired Brick Distress Marker.  Die cut out the panel with Cuttlebug's Jigsaw Puzzle die then edge each piece with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Adhere the jigsaw pieces to a black cardstock mat and distress the edges of the mat with Tim's Paper Distresser tool.  Then adhere that to a deep red cardstock mat.  Distress the edges and apply Black Soot Distress Ink to the edges.

Now for the puzzle piece!  I stamped the Skellie head portion onto the back of a real cardboard puzzle piece that was already white with Onyx Black Memento ink.  But if you want to use the front of a piece or if the back is cardboard grey then prep the surface with a coat of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso.  Colour the background of the image with Tea Dye Distress Marker and the roses with the same Copics as the other roses.  Then add some Pumice Stone Distress Marker to the shadows on the skeleton too.  Adhere the puzzle piece to the card with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive and finish off with Opal Stickles glitter glue applied to all the roses on the puzzle piece and just the centers of the others.

Don't forget to stop by DominoART again on May 3rd for the next featured project!

There's 2 other events currently happening too so come and join the fun!

Domino Hugs!
