Join Us for another Wonderland adventure!
I'm a huge Alice in Wonderland fan so of course I have the Ever After High Wonderland character dolls in my collection.  For my project I made Lizzie Hearts an oversized Mad Hatter's top hat!
I designed and created the top hat from scratch using red cardstock that I'd embossed with a large embossing folder (Regency Crafter's Companion) and enhanced the design with Black Soot Distress ink.  I then happily decorated it with lots of fun embellishments and stamped elements.

I altered a 9 of Hearts playing card and stamped it with Lost Coast Designs large Gears background in Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink and embossed with gold and silver embossing powders.  I distressed the edges of the large playing card and the mini Queen of Hearts playing card with Tim's paper distresser tool and applied Black Soot Distress ink to the edges.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Queen of Hearts with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, coloured her with Copics and a metallic gold gel pen and fussy cut her out.  I also stamped up the leaves from Lost Coast Designs large Rose in Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink, embossed with a combo of gold and silver EP and fussy cut them out.  I then painted the leaves with Grass Green and Jade Nuance Powders.  I also stamped up a few card suites and hearts using Lost Coast Designs Heart Diamond Spade Club Border and Hearts and Curls Border in Galaxy Gold, embossed with gold EP and fussy cut them out too.  Next I cut out various greenery from black cardstock using Tim Holtz Garden Greens dies and applied metallic silver and gold rub-on cremes to the pieces.  I embellished my top hat with black tulle, red and white paper roses and assorted brass gears.

Here's a closer look at all the details!
Thanks for stopping by to see my project today!
Have a great weekend!

Beauties on Tags

Hi all! It's Nan with two tags today.  Now why are there two and not three tags as I intended?  Well, much to my shame I had all three tags stuck into a book so that they would dry flat and the book ate one of the tags!  Yes, ate it!  I went through that book 8 times no sign of it...gremlins again?  But I did get my two beauties on tags even with the drama!

The first thing I did was stamp the DT with the stamp Birds in Tree in purple Distress Ink then I  stamped two of the Gibson Girl's Faces from the set in different Distress Inks on kraft paper I bought in Japan which is very thin almost like tissue paper. I inked the tags after gluing some DP torn and inked edges onto the tags.  I used honeycomb stamp from the Lattice ATC Stamp set in purple on different spots and the Cherry Tree stamp from the ATC Misc. 2 Set.

So I hope you enjoyed my Gibson Girl tags today and also hope that you will check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for all challenges, events, and Designer Reviews!

And You Think You Look Different?

Hi all!  It's Nan with a stamp fellow I have felt a kindred spirit with from day one I say him!  In a cookie cutter world, he is like me an odd duck and I love that!  He has an official name "Face with Tongue" at Lost Coast Designs but I have always called him Tongue Guy and he likes that name, too!  So by the colors I used you can tell what I am in the mood for and getting all ready for.....orange, black, mystery....Halloween, anyone?

Still lots of time to get in on our "Anything Goes" Challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity; these are the greatest cause anything goes :)  And keep in touch with the Portal for all the fabulous upcoming events we have around the corner!  I wouldn't miss it for the world and you shouldn't either!  Share the fun I say so come see us and find out all the ways to win goodies from our stores!

Still Time to Play with Watercolor Backgrounds for Challenge #27

Our monthly challenge is still running so grab some watercolors and join in the fun!  You can find all the details on all our fantastic happenings at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  Today I have a simple note card with a wonderful pear stamp from Carmen's Veranda, Pear Square, and I love the pear stamps that are available there and at Lost Coast Designs.

I stamped on a piece of paper that had been under a project that I had used Nuance Powders on and even though a little drippy I loved the effect with the Spectrum Noir markers in citrus colors.  Some designer paper and ribbon and a neat note card in no time!

That's it from me, Nan, today!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by :)

Two Skellies Dancing in the Moonlight

Hi, all! Nan popping in a bit late for the party but with two skellies who just had to come out for Skellie Fest anyway!  What a fab time and awesome skellies everywhere!  These two were so excited about the fest they got out under a golden moon and danced their little hearts out, literally!  They hail from Lost Coast Designs and are appropriately named "Dancing Skeletons".  I love these two and always have fun playing with them :)

Thanks for letting them have their moment in the moonlight even though the fest is over.  Please check out our challenge for June and our next event at the  Lost Coast Portal to Creativity so you won't miss out on any of the fun or chances to win wonderful stamps!

Ghostie BOO Birds & Nuance Backgrounds

Happy Half-O-Ween Lost Coaster's!

Leigh here to share some Half-O-Ween inspiration featuring Whimsical Birds by Doris Arndt and Nuance Powders by Magenta now available at Lost Coast Designs!

We are currently celebrating Halloween in May every 2nd day until May 31st over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  Stop by to see lots of spooktacular projects and then dig out your Halloween stamps and join the linky party for the chance to win a fab $15 shopping spree at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!

For Day 1 of Half-O-Ween I made these 2 ATCs featuring both the large and mini versions of Whimsical Flora.  These are our latest addition to the Lost Coast Designs line of quality rubber stamps consisting of 8 large birdies and 2 sets of minis.

Both ATCs started out the same way with a scrumptious background created with the fabulous Nuance Powders by Magenta.  We currently stock all 15 colours but it's just been announced that 5 new colours are heading our way...SQUEEEE!

I had so much fun just letting the powders do their magic.  I tapped micro specks of grey, violet, hot pink, orange and golden yellow onto the ATCs and then spritzed with water.  While wet I smooshed an ATC blank on top of another to transfer the colour and also played around with the colour soaked up by the paper towel to make even more backgrounds.  I then dried them all with my heat gun and ironed them flat.

I stamped Lost Coast Design's large Spiderwebs background onto both ATCs in Tea Dye Distress Ink.

On the first ATC I created the pale moon using a circle punch as a mask and Cloud White VersaMagic ink dabbed on with a piece of paper towel and I also stamped the Cracked Grass and Sky with Brilliance Platinum Planet to add the little stars and dots to the background of both ATCs.

I continued building my scenes by stamping the large and mini Cracked Tree in Onyx Black VersaFine ink and added shimmer and shine to the branches with "Perfect Pearl" Perfect Pearls powder mixed with water and applied with a paint brush.  The light catches the shimmer only at certain angles for magical effect.

Now for my Ghostie Birds...both Whimsical Floras were stamped twice on Neenah cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I fussy cut out the entire bird from the 1st set and just the heads from the 2nd.  The heads were adhered with pop dots and I also applied Judikins Diamond Glaze to their eyes for extra dimension and shine.  The "BOO" text was stamped with Old Type Writer Alphabet set in both lower and upper case, one was left plain and the other I coloured with purple Prismacolor pencil.  I drew the frames with a black Micron pen and added black Prismacolor pencil and adhered the "BOOs" to the ATCs with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.

That's it from me today, I hope you enjoyed seeing how I made these two Ghostie BOO Bird ATCs and don't forget to stop by Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for more Half-O-Ween fun!

Cracked Wisdom

Hello, Nan here to share today!  I hope you enjoyed our Cracked Critters Event at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!  There's still time to get in your entries for the chance to win that $10 gift certificate to spend at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda, deadline is midnight PST on May 7th!

I have a wise Cracked Owl from the Mini Cracked Critters Set One from Lost Coast Designs and he is the star of my card :)  Forgive the pun!

An A2 kraft card with star cut out and red paper behind with the owl stamped.  I stamped the owl again on white paper and colored with watercolor pencils before gluing on the stamped red paper.  A flower embellie to serve as a closure for the twine to wrap around and he is ready to give out his words of wisdom.

As always check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for the rest of the teams makes and all the info about upcoming events and the new challenge will be starting soon for May!

Come Play with Us "Anything Goes"

Hi all, it's Nan here getting a bit grungy!   Anything Goes?  Yes, not much easier than that, right?  And you still have until the 25th to get those makes in for a chance at some shopping fun at Lost Coast Designs, so get up ...right after you take a peek at this...and head for the linky HERE :)

I am in love with something else.  These little mini grunge fold up books.  They measure 2 x 2 and seem impossible to do what they do but they work with very little effort.  I used Distress Inks and crumpled and wet and inked, then repeated.  The covers are cardboard :) squares covered with the paper then stamped to make sure the image is in the right place but I waited until I had put it all together to stamp my front so it fits the grunge title very well!

Stamped with Winged Skeleton from Carmen's Veranda

Cracked Tree and Crows Border from Lost Coast Designs

Hope you give one of these a try!  They are super fun and you can look on Youtube under "mini grunge book" and it will tell you how to do it :)

Check out all the fun at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and JOIN the challenge this month, please?  You know you want to :)

Use a Coaster!

Hi, it's Nan again with a time old adage.  What all moms used to say "Use a Coaster!".  So with some cork coaster blanks and some fabulous stamps from Lost Coast Designs, I was off to the task at hand!  I love the new released "ATC Hands" including the "Pictograph Hand" and having four coasters and three hands...hmmmm?  The awesome Dictionary Words set with "Mystery, Hope, Eternity, and Goddess" was perfect for all those markings on the hands were a mystery to me :)

To finish the set I made a holder out of a leftover cardboard (of course!) roll from some packing and wrapped with some freebie paper from Somerset Studios magazine with "MYSTERY" from the Misc. Words set stamped on the front.

Now I am all set for no watermarks on the table!  Come join us at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for all the news and info on events and chances to win some money to spend at the stores!  All of our linkys are below and I hope to see you there!

New Goodies at Lost Coast Designs!

Hi all! Nanette here with some fun, fun new stamps! You have to go check out Lost Coast Designs new stamps!  I am in love!  Of course each stamp I get becomes my favorite but they are fabulous.  This little canvas is called "Big Deal, You Can Sit in a Tree" because little mini "Lizard Dog" is fairly put out with all the friends with wings and even the cat...the CAT! can sit in a tree!  You might remember a sneak peak at "Party Cat"?  These all come in the "Mini Cracked Critters Set One" stamp and are so much fun to color up and put them anywhere you can imagine.  I also used the "Grunge Tree" for my background doing a log of manipulation of the stamp to get what I wanted.  And that is a wonderful thing about rubber stamps, you can manipulate them to work on your projects.

I used Promarkers for coloring, I love the bright colors and Inktense blocks and Distress inks for the sky and grass.  I stamped the birds on the background then stamped on white cardstock to color and fussy cut and attached.  I did outline with a Pitt Big Brush marker to give them some pop and lots of white gel pen doodles.

Hope you do have a look at these and the other new releases..you won't be disappointed!  And always check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for our monthly challenges, special events, and our Design Team inspirations.  Also keep our Facebook pages in mind as new challenges that you can enter are posted there!  All this means cash to spend at the store!

This challenge is totally up my alley and I had so many ideas I couldn't decide on just one project so I made 3, a coaster for Him and a bracelet and necklace for Her!

The Coaster
I used Lost Coast Designs Calligraphy Doll in addition to touches of the scrolls from Carmen's Veranda Winged Skeleton

The Bracelet
I used Lost Coast Designs Lynnea from the Mini Flying Ladies stamp set.

The Necklace
I used Lost Coast Designs Art Doll from the Mini Flying Ladies set as well.

And for my last share today I've got something a bit different!  I'm currently playing in a 12 Days of Creepmas blog hop and here's my Day 5 altered domino from Dec 9 featuring

Still Time to Enter the Mail Art Challenge!

Nanette here again with some Christmas mail art!  Our Lost Coast Designs Challenge is still open for a few days, we close on the 27th so get those stamps and get messy with an envelope!  I finally got my Derwent Inktense blocks last week...squeee!  I gently tore an envelope from Betty Jo from a swap to use as my template.  Then loads of watercolor blocks and stamping with the wrong ink that smeared horribly so covered with a coat of light green paint and left it!  Came back and started over and added some stencils and embossed the inked images :)

I used the wonderful "Elf With Star" from Carmen's Veranda and the "Christmas Lights" from there too.
Had to add "Merry Christmas" from Party Words comes from Lost Coast Designs and it has a ton of sentiments on it so well worth having in your stash!

That's it for me today!  Come play with us we have events coming up that you can keep up with on the amazing Lost Coast Portal to Creativity ...just look at the side bars and click on the things we have going on and it will take you right there...magic!

Happy Skeletons

This is a make from 31 Days of Halloween thought I would add them all here as I forgot to do it after they were posted on the Lost Coast to Creativity Designer Blog :(  This make is from Lost Coast Designs and is from the fabulous stamp called "Dancing Skeletons" and I love this stamp!  I must admit I adore every stamp in the line of Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda; they seem made for my quirky self!

I used the glossy photo with wet Distress Inks to make the background for the dancing skeletons...I think that technique is wonderful!  Thanks Lindsay!  The canvas/cardboard it is mounted on is embossed with the "Three Trees" background stamp from Carmen's Veranda and embossed with black embossing powder.  I used sprays from DecoArt and Lindy's lots of layering on a gesso base.  The wire fence is handmade and then a chipboard cat, skull, and pumpkin and some black cardstock skulls with some spiders round up the whole night time party!  And for a party, no disco ball to be found so some silver beads frame the happy skellies!

Make sure you don't miss a day visiting the Lost Coast Designs Portal to Creativity for wonderful chances to enter our challenges and events and our Facebook page has a challenge that will be up very soon so keep up with the news there, too.
