Howzit, my name is Leigh S-B also known as The Sharpie Domino Queen and yes, that is a TARDIS in my photo! I'm a huge Doctor Who fan and love all things Scifi, paranormal and fantasy!
I’m an award winning artist trained in Fine Art and a certified Gare Ceramic instructor as well as an avid Paper Artist, Jewelry Designer, Digital Artist and Designer and an Altered Artist of anything I can get my hands on! I also do oil painting, drawing, photography and fantasy doll customizing. My art aesthetic tends to lean towards fantasy art. I also have a dark side and enjoy creating with more dark and alternative imagery too which is why I just LOVE Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda stamps.
I love animals especially cats, and how the name of my website, Velvet Paw Creations, originated. Before I discovered the world of Rubber Stamping I used to go by Velvet Paw Ceramics, specializing in painting life-like and fantasy ceramic cats, dogs and other animals too.
I've been involved in the world of Rubber Stamping for well over 20 years now and in 2002 I discovered my passion for Altered Game Art. I pioneered the technique of using Sharpie markers to create vibrant miniature works of art on dominoes and other game tiles and was given my nickname ‘The Sharpie Domino Queen' by the members of my DominoART Yahoo group.
I share my art on my main blog Leigh SB Designs, my DominoART blog and on Facebook pages for both! I work out of my studio and live in sunny Southern California with my hubby and furbabies and plan to launch my own line of exclusive digital stamps soon!
I have written articles in leading stamping magazines and my creations have also been featured in Somerset Studio, Stamper’s Sampler, The Rubber Stamper, Belle Armoire Jewelry and Just Steampunk as well as online at Altered Arts, The Stamper's Mall, Unmounted Central and various other websites.
I keep very busy serving on some awesome Design Teams (currently The East Wind and Delicious Doodles) as well DT Leader for Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda. I'm also a Perfect Paper Crafting Brand Ambassador. In the past I designed for Smeared Ink, Blockheads Paper Arts, Third Coast Art Rubber Stamps, About Art Accents, Forever Dark and Dark Attic Challenges, Altered Eclectics, Cards n Stamps and The Stamper's Mall where I had a monthly ezine called Leigh’s Altered World of Game Pieces. I do have an Etsy store as well as a CafePress store that is in the middle of being revamped so stay tuned! Besides the DominoART Yahoo group I'm also the owner of Find That Stamp and Co-Own Rubber Traders.
I'm an avid collector of cat figurines, fantasy and scifi toys and sculptures of movies and TV shows like Alien, The Matrix, Terminator, the X-Files and the Walking Dead and in 2013 I started collecting dolls from Monster High, Bleeding Edge Goth Dolls to more high end dolls, particularly Tonner's Evangeline Ghastly as well as assorted Asian ball joined dolls. I love all things Alice in Wonderland so I had to have the Living Dead Dolls Wonderland series and some Wonderland themed Pullips as well. Naturally I'm now getting into customizing my own dolls. So many things to do and not enough hours in the day ;0) I hope all my varied interests inspire YOU to let your creative spirits soar!

I have been crafting since I learned to sew at my Mom's side at around age 8. Then she taught me ceramics, wood cutting and painting, and I found blogdom art a few years ago. I love all types of creating; I don't put myself in one category. I prefer to be called a unique crafter and then I can play with so much more!

Hi everyone. I’m a 47 year old married mother of one, living in south Louisiana and I do a little bit of everything. I like working in miniature, have been know to costume a few dolls, am an avid reader and of course, I love stamping. I’ve been working with mixed media for about six years or so, starting out in the very beginning with ATCs and progressing from there. While I do still create a lot of ATCs, I also create tags, inchies, canvases, art journals, and alter anything and everything. My style is really all over the place, though I lean toward clean lines and a more traditional style. I’m now experimenting with creating layouts in a small format and using stamped images and collage sheets instead of photographs.
Over the past 4 years, I’ve been a designer for Gauche Alchemy, Basically Bare, Art Anthology, Gecko Galz, and Technique Junkies. I’ve also guest designed for Viva Las VegaStamps and Alpha Stamps (twice), and was on a (now defunct) challenge team for a while. I’m also a Designer Member of CHA and occasionally design for Designer Crafts Connection. I’m thrilled to now be part of the Lost Coast Designs team.
Hi everyone! I'm Paula, a professional touring and recording musician based in Atlanta. My music gigs take me all over the country and sometimes to fun parts of the world I never would see otherwise! I play historical harps--copies of instruments that were in use in the 1500s-1700s mostly.
When I'm not on the road for gigs I enjoy expressing creativity via stamping, collage, and altered and mixed media art. I started my art journey as a young adult, when I was a professional calligrapher active on the national scene; I taught classes and workshops, took commissions from companies like Coca-Cola, and had work published in the Speedball Lettering Textbook and various editions of The Calligrapher's Engagement Calendar. My musical education pulled me away from the visual arts for a while, but later I came back reincarnated as an avid stamper, and was published in The Stamper's Sampler and other Somerset publications. Motherhood and the demands of my music career took me away from the art world again for several years, but now I am back with a vengeance and thrilled to be adventuring in the world of mixed media, with my stamping featuring prominently in my work (along with an occasional soupçon of calligraphy).
My husband and I have two adolescent kids, a daughter and a son, who astonish me pretty much daily. We also have two purebred cats, a (mink) Tonkinese girl and a (marble) Bengal boy, who are slightly less astonishing but still pretty fun. What else?... Oh, I'm Swedish-American and lived in the Stockholm area for several years. The expatriate community is my tribe!
Other things in my life include tennis--I am an avid player myself as well as a rabid fan of pro tennis, and I usually am playing in a couple of leagues at any given time. I also love perfume, especially scents from niche and indie perfume houses, and have at long last recently arrived at the realization that a person can wear only so much perfume in her life :( I'm working at wearing the hell out of my perfume collection these days and really really really trying hard not to acquire more! (Really!!)
