Altered Playing Cards

I am taking part in a weekly Altered Playing Card (APC) challenge. Here are a couple of APC's using the gorgeously diverse stamps by Lost Coast Designs :

For this APC the topic was bees. The perfect bee was to be found amongst the gorgeous winged animals, More Bugz, look how realistic it is :
Here is my completed APC, I have used a honey comb stencil, die, embossing powers and inks.
The wording is significant on this APC "Long live the Queen", this is not necessarily because I am a Royalist, but because the bee is such an important part of life and existence, lets have thriving colonies.

The second APC uses one of the awesome girls from The Doodle Dolls 1 Set :
I lightly gesso'd this playing card so that some of it would show through in the background, love that effect. The background is done with crackle paste and a stencil and dylusions sprays. The image is colored with copics and white and black gel pen.

Here is a close up of her, I think she is pretty special. You can also see the background more clearly :
Just over half way through the APC challenge, its fun to alter a pack of 52 playing cards and I am most impressed with myself for keeping up ! LOL
Thanks for stopping by x

Art Journal Quote

Hi all, Esther here,

This time I made another art Journal page. For the background I used some stencils, spray inks, markers and of course some Lost Coast stamps.  Travel Stuff and the Snowflakes set I used for creating the background. (Take a look at the close-up picture to see).
.

For the text I used my Favourite Licence plate set, stamped the text on some gelli print scraps, cut them out and glued them on the background.

Thanks for watching and I hope this page will give you some inspiration :)

Apart from that I used tissue paper as the base, acrylic paints and gesso, stencils and model paste, inks and some glass bead gel for the small hearts. Some cardboard for the big heart, twine and some sand texture paste around the edges of the canvas.

Hope this gave you some inspiration !

Christmas Card Ideas

Hello Everyone!
I have been working with the stamp, Mary and Angels, and have made some shimmery Christmas cards.  I added glitter and stamped on velum for some interesting results.  I also used the Merry Christmas Sentiment from the Party Words set.

On the first card, I stamped on velum with black ink.  I made sure the ink was dry before working with the piece.  The velum was turned over and colored on the backside with a red Vellum Writer (Zig).  The piece was layered over white CS.  I stamped the image again on white CS; cut out Mary and added her to the piece with dimensional adhesive.

On the second card, I stamped the image with Sahara Sand Versa Magic  ink.  When the ink was dry, I painted the image with Lumiere Paint.  While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled on Diamond Glitter.  And, I stamped another Mary and made her dimensional.

Cards three and four were made in the same way, except that black ink was used for the stamping.  If the paint drys too quickly, a glue pad can be used to adhere the glitter.  That is what I did with this card as the paint dried too quickly.

A lovely sent of Christmas cards with lots of sparkle!  Hope you enjoyed!! Happy Holidays!!

Life's a circus

Hi, Corrie here,

Today I have an art journal to share with you.. I used 'Large Clown doll',  'License Plate Alphabet", Loopy Calligraphy" and a bit of the text from "Dream" 'dictionary.  The background was painted with acrylic paint. The circles were finger painted on deli paper and cut out and adhered with gel medium. Some stencilling with white and orange ink and some washi tape finished the page.

Thank you for stopping by !
