The cityscape stamp is one of my favorites from the new releases at Lost Coast Designs. I am sharing this mixed media piece in which I used the stamp, with you today. It is made on sturdy carson watercolor paper. First I stamped the small doll face which I used as moon with versamark and embossed it with clear WOW embossing powder. Then stamped the cityscape at the bottom at the whole length of the card with versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. I masked the moonface and started to work on the sky. I used a mix of cerulean colored goache and iridescent paint medium to make the blue part and cloud wisps. To get the 'immersion in twilight' feel of the city, I used metallic rub ons on the cityscape in copper and purple. I mostly used my fingers for this. But you have rub gently as you could risk rubbing off the embossing. I also rubbed bits of purple in between the roofs of the city to mix with the light blue. It gives it a light 'city on fire' look. I took away the mask of the moon and rubbed on a silver metallic rub on the face and contours to give it a 'halo'. To finish it off I applied bits of silver metallic rub on on the sky and embossed it with 'Starlight' embossing powder by Stampendous.
Hope this inspires you to work with paints and rub ons and LCD stamps to make some wonderful art pieces yourself!
